Some players join on old laptops and sit at 20 to 30 FPS. This gives them a switch: /openfps opens a small menu with two modes, Normal and Lower Graphics. Lower Graphics turns down the effects that load the GPU and CPU the most, the picture changes gradually over a few seconds, and Normal puts everything back.
It’s made for low-end PCs. A player already above 130 FPS won’t notice much; the difference shows for someone stuck at 20 to 30. We tested it with more than 2,000 players before release, but every PC reacts a little differently, so let them try both modes.
